We’re recruiting on behalf of our client, an award-winning insurance advisory business. They’re opening a brand-new Masterton office after purchasing an existing insurance portfolio, and they’re looking for someone to take ownership of it and grow it.

This is a rare chance to build something of your own in your local community, backed by proper training, a supportive team and dedicated admin support.

The role
You’ll look after an established client base of farming, commercial and domestic clients, becoming their trusted local adviser and the face of the business in Masterton.

• Build strong relationships with existing clients and keep them with the business
• Meet clients and proactively manage their renewals
• Handle endorsements and client requirements, with admin support behind you
• Win new business and grow the portfolio, with a first-year growth target of around 20%
• Get involved in the local community and make yourself known

About you
Our client cares more about who you are than what’s on your CV. You might be coming from a completely different industry, and that’s fine.

• A natural networker with strong relationship-building skills
• Well connected in Masterton and the wider Wairarapa community
• Comfortable talking with farming and commercial clients
• Entrepreneurial, with a real desire to grow a business
• Professional, loyal and committed, ready to build a long-term career here
• Willing to learn insurance and complete your Level 5 qualification

Insurance experience is welcome, but it isn’t essential.


What’s on offer

• Training and support: a proven online training programme, time in other offices, and hands-on coaching from senior leadership in your own office
• Qualification funded: your Level 5 qualification is paid for
• Admin support: a dedicated team to help with renewals, endorsements and client folders, so you can focus on clients
• Salary: from $65,000, up to $80,000 for the right candidate, with the potential to earn $100,000 to $137,000 within around three years as your portfolio grows
