We’re working with a boutique advisory team based on Auckland’s North Shore that is looking to bring on an experienced SME Insurance Broker to take over and grow an existing portfolio.

This role will suit someone who prefers a relationship-led approach to broking, focusing on client retention and service rather than high-volume renewals.

The Role
You’ll manage a portfolio of approximately $300K income, with a mix of SME and connected domestic clients. The book includes a range of risks with a particular skew toward professional clients and small business exposures.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing and servicing an existing portfolio of domestic and SME clients
• Providing advice across a range of personal and small commercial lines
• Identifying opportunities to grow the book through referrals and cross-selling
• Maintaining strong insurer and client relationships
• Handling renewals, endorsements, and day-to-day portfolio management

About You
This role will suit a broker who enjoys the servicing and relationship side of broking. Ideally, you will bring:

• Around 5+ years’ experience in insurance broking (or a strong junior ready to step up)
• Solid administration and portfolio management skills
• Confidence working across both SME and domestic risks
• The ability to build trust and leverage referral opportunities
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
